Contrary to popular opinion, apart from The Phantom Of The Opera, there are seats available for most West End shows Mondays to Thursdays from the Box Office on the day of performance. Of course if you want front row centre Dress Circle on Saturday night you will need to book ahead - some months in the case of the big musicals.
Good seats usually go on sale on the day of the performance, as the Producerís House Seats are released and unsold Ticket Agents allocations are marked back. This usually happens at around 11.00 am. Sometimes these seats are available by phone, but on Saturdays and for shows that are almost sold out, these may be restricted to window sales at the theatre. It is always worth trying at the theatre in person if you can. The Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company hold some tickets back for sale on the day at the theatre only.
If you are planning an extra special night out you can book a VIP package. This will guarantee you best seats, drinks and/or canapés in the Royal Retiring Room before, during and/or after the show, your own attendant to tend to your needs, and free programmes and brochures. Packages are tailored to your individual requirements.
